I really should take time to be 🐝 in the sun today… there appears to be many rainy days ahead. #inneedofsunshine #springtime #nyc
It was such a joy to work on this pet portrait. It was my time drawing dogs for a Pet Portrait commission (yay!). And I was elated that my client chose the most whimsical drawing proposal I sent to her. Happy First day of summer! I hope that you sit in a field of flowers today too :).
Working on a new pet portrait! This time I’m drawing TWO DOGS! I love you cats, but I’m pretty excited to be changing it up this time. Hoping to have a bird or snake for the next pet ;).
I’m in need of 70 degree weather and sunshine. Until that happens (hopefully in a week?!), I will pretend I’m floating in the sun like this bear :).
I’m incredibly excited for my new spring and swing dance cards to be delivered. Only a couple more days!
HI De Ho! Hope you have a good weekend! This card will be available in less than a week!
Working on some new cards! A few Spring and Swing (dance) cards. They will be available the 3rd weekend in April at Brooklyn Swing (the 15th), Swing Remix (the 16th), and Greenpointers Market (the 17th). Looking forward to vending for an entire weekend! I’ll post the swing dance card drawings tomorrow but here are the other cards for now!
I’ve been enjoying longer days of sunlight and seeing the trees around me dress up in their most elegant and fanciful attire of the year. Whether I’m looking outside my window at work, walking in the park or in my neighborhood, there are a variety of blossoms all around. It’s strangely warm for New York City this time of year. I keep wondering if we will have one last bit of snow or cold front before we can keep the warmth. Then again if it is reaching 80 degrees now I worry more so about summer…
I was sitting in the park during lunch today and saw these beautiful blossoming flowers! The weather this week has been undeniably gorgeous! I love leaving work with the skies still sunny. I been feeling an extra burst of inspiration lately for my artwork. I hate to say it, but I’ve been a little lazy lately. I hope to have some new stationary designs up for preview soon.
Check out this poem, I thought it was appropriate:
I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD
Written at Town-end, Grasmere. The Daffodils grew and still grow on the margin of Ullswater and probably may be seen to this day as beautiful in the month of March, nodding their golden heads beside the dancing and foaming waves. – William Wordsworth, 1804
I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed – and gazed – but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
– William Wordsworth, 1804
